 Feed The Need

Feed the Need is a West Vancouver based organization that serves 710 meals per day to vulnerable seniors. The first wave of the pandemic in 2020 unmasked a shocking situation. Many retired seniors, a group believed to be well-cared for in a city such as West Vancouver, were suffering from extreme food insecurity. Barely scraping by with money from their pensions, they relied on food programs and low-quality meals from Dollarama. Even worse, the Covid virus had shut down the aforementioned options, and seniors could not risk or were not able to go grocery shopping themselves. Passionate West Vancouver staff created Feed the Need to fill the missing support individuals needed. However, the discovery of even more locations with impoverished seniors increases their burden. Feeding 710 mouths everyday adds up to an astonishing annual cost. Feed the Need hopes to establish a sustainable income source with the help of the community and organizations such as CBO. They are excited and hopeful about the new opportunities these partnerships bring.

Art Vancouver

Art Vancouver brings together both rapidly growing creative talent and renowned international artists under one roof. Western Canada's largest contemporary art fair attracts over 10,000 art lovers annually to the Vancouver Convention Centre, where there will be over 1,200 pieces of artwork from 100 local and international galleries and artists. Under Art Vancouver’s umbrella, is Art Ignites, a youth-oriented initiative offering opportunities for youth artists to exhibit their work, learn about careers in the art industry, and a platform for the youth to develop and hone in on their artistry with advice from local artists. CBO will be managing various events and initiatives for Art Ignites and intends to help make art accessible to all youth throughout the Lower Mainland.
