    Chief Executive Officer

    As Chief Executive Officer of the Collingwood Business Organization (CBO) and a senior at Collingwood School, Eric Wang leads efforts to provide students with meaningful opportunities to gain practical insights into the business world and apply their knowledge to contribute to the city of Vancouver. During his tenure, Eric is focused on building a robust foundation for CBO, transforming it into a structured organization that accurately mirrors real-world business dynamics. His goal is to establish CBO as an integral part of Collingwood’s educational framework, fostering a community of aspiring leaders committed to positively impacting society. His favorite book is “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman.

  • Kevin Hu

    Chief Financial Officer

    As the Chief Financial Officer of the Collingwood Business Organization, Kevin is dedicated to ensuring accuracy of financial statements, and the finances for each event that requires fundraising. Kevin is focused on improving his financial management skills, and hopes to host various competitions related to finance for CBO. In addition, Kevin serves as the CEO of the Collingwood Investment Committee, a subsidiary of CBO, where they host investment competitions from organizations like DECA, and Wharton. Kevin hopes to pursue finance, investments, and quantitative analysis in his university studies.

  • Marley Lorence

    Chief Marketing Officer

    As Chief Marketing Officer, Marley Lorence is focused on effectively promoting events and fundraisers to enhance community engagement for CBO. Through this role, Marley aims to harness her creativity skills in creating posters and campaigns that not only look clean and professional but ensure they capture attention and stand out. By having a presence in CBO, she hopes to gain experience in the business industry and work in a team of like-minded peers. Aside from working with CBO, Marley is the Sustainability Executive for her school, competes on the track team, and is an active member of the fashion club.

  • Emilio Molina

    Chief Operations Officer

    As the Chief Operations Officer of the Collingwood Business Organization, Emilio plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth execution of events like the Interlinked-in Workshop and the Pitch Perfect Stock Pitch Competition. Emilio is focused on providing students with meaningful opportunities to expand their business acumen and build professional networks. In addition to his work with CBO, Emilio is the captain of the senior soccer team and an active member of both the wrestling and rugby teams. He also serves as the Communications Executive for Collingwood School and the Director of Communications for the Collingwood Investment Committee. Emilio hopes to pursue engineering and business in his post-secondary studies.

    Director of Communications

    As the Director of Communication, Sutton is focused on improving the awareness and engagement of the Collingwood Business Organization. She helps create clear and effective messages to ensure that CBO's projects and goals are understood by both the team and the wider community. She is passionate about building strong relationships and transparent communication, making sure CBO’s mission and values are shared and supported by the local business network. Additionally, Sutton extends her passion for business by participating in organizations like DECA and the Collingwood Investment Committee. Sutton is also the Captain of the Senior Field Hockey Team and is pursuing the sport in the NCAA post secondary.

  • Benjamin Jiang

    Director of Community Relations (Internal)

    As the Director of Internal Community Relations at Collingwood Business Organization, Ben is incredibly engaged in establishing and sustaining valuable relationships with internal organizations, including Collingwood School’s various clubs and committees. This year, Ben looks forward to contributing to the Spring Fair and Poinsettia Fundraiser and helping host crucial EDI Events for our school community. In addition to his relationship with CBO, Ben hopes to pursue business and loves reconnecting with nature through golfing and hiking. His favourite quote that inspires him daily is by Tiger Woods: “The greatest thing about tomorrow is, I will be better than I am today.” he always strives for greatness.

    Director of Community Relations (External)

    Helen, as the Director of External Community Relations at the Collingwood Business Organization, is passionate about building and maintaining strong connections with community partners. She collaborates closely with organizations like Atira, Feed the Need, and Strathcona Elementary, leading fundraising initiatives and organizing events for their causes. Helen is driven by a desire to strengthen and expand the organization’s impact by forging meaningful relationships within the community. Beyond her role at CBO, Helen spends her weekends volunteering at a local senior center and serving as a teaching assistant in a youth art class. She aspires to pursue business management and data science in her university studies.

  • Aru Thiagarajah

    Chief Technology Officer

    As the Chief Technology Officer, Aru is dedicated to crafting a lasting CBO website, ensuring that it not only highlights the contributions and success of members, but also to serve as an impactful and meaningful archive to all future CBO members. During her time as CTO, her overall goal is revamping the website to more accurately reflect what CBO is as an organization and what it means to the members of CBO. She hopes to strengthen her mentorship and leadership skills in collaboration with junior members and hone in on the community aspect of CBO. An avid stargazer, Aru often spends her weekend evenings practicing amateur astronomy and “loving the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night” - Sarah Williams.

  • Sam Paterson

    Special Initiatives Coordinator

    As Special Initiatives Coordinator of Collingwood Business Organization, Sam provides opportunities for fellow students to help improve the school community as a whole. Coming from Junior CBO last year, he’s ready to adapt to the added responsibilities that are brought on by taking a higher position as a grade 10 student with hopes to become a leader and someone his peers can look up to for CBO in the near future. Alongside his commitment to CBO, he volunteers for Special Olympics and plays rugby and basketball on the school teams. His ultimate goal is to support people venturing outside of their comfort zones to help them develop new skill sets in alignment to CBO’s core ideals. Sam is inspired by LeBron James’ favorite saying, “Put yourself in situations where you’re not comfortable.”

    Special Initiatives Coordinator

    As the Special Initiatives Coordinator, Yihan is focused on exploring a plethora of competitions and events to share with the rest of the school community. Primarily, he focuses on bringing the DECA competition to Collingwood, as well as helping to organize other competitions such as FBLA and HOSA. Yihan is dedicated to thorough planning to uphold the highest quality for each competition and trip. In his free time, Yihan competes in basketball, takes on roles within many school committees and leads part of the Social Impact Labs service program in school. A vocal leader who does not shy away from crowds, Yihan hopes to inspire the larger school community by introducing new and exciting opportunities.

    Special Initiatives Coordinator

    As the Special Initiatives Coordinator of the Collingwood Business Organization. Tom strives to help voice CBO’s ideas into the world by contributing to CBO’s goals and providing opportunities for his peers. Tom hopes to encourage others to be at their best while helping make CBO an unforgettable experience for everyone. Being the chair of Jr.CBO last year, Tom recognizes the adaptation as well as increase in work and responsibility. Tom hopes to learn from his leaders and directors in CBO to hopefully become one in the future. Tom aims to gather the experience from commitments outside of CBO such as volunteering and service in West Vancouver communities to help propel CBO forwards and make an impact. Tom endeavors to keep growing in experience as his favourite F1 driver Lewis Hamilton would say “There are times when you are growing through experiences, but sometimes there is a point of diminishing returns in terms of growth”. Tom will give his 100% effort to contribute to CBO and help guide it to success.

    As The Co-Director of Human Resources, Nico is committed to strengthening the company's values and solidifying their value proposition. Nico's goal is to create a strong sense of belonging and unity throughout CBO, by overseeing and supporting events that occur . As a strong advocate of effective communication, Nico pushes to ensure that the company's ideas are always succinct, intriguing, and aligned with its guiding principles. By cultivating close ties with cooperating partners, Nico aims to advance collaborative environments that create marketing partnerships and collaborations. A unique fact about Nico is that he simultaneously holds the role of Head Student at collingwood, and loves to spend time outdoors in his free time.

    As Co-Director of Human Resources, Jenna is committed to fostering a positive environment within the Collingwood Business Organization and guiding the development of the executive team within the organization—preparing them not only for success here but ultimately in the real world.     Vice President of Finances

    As a Vice President of Finances, Jillina is dedicated to exploring innovative strategies and practices while collaborating with fellow members to drive organizational growth and success. Recognizing the pivotal role finance plays in achieving our goals, Jillina will contribute to fundraising efforts, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring sustainable and accurate financial management. Beyond her passion for business, management, and finance,  Jillina finds joy and inspiration in dancing, music, and travelling. Thrilled to be part of CBO, Jillina combines her passion for business with her creative interests. She hopes to help create a vibrant community of aspiring youth, embracing excellence and diverse perspectives.

    Vice President of Finances

    As Vice President of Finance, Harry is dedicated to ensuring inventive strategies for the CBO community. He is determined to collaborate with other members and leaders to assist with the financial side of events and fundraisers, as well as volunteer in aspects outside of what his position requires. Harry is specifically assigned to assist in financial reports and managing the revenue made from past fundraisers, improving and organizing the financial process overall. Outside his interest in business and financial management, he finds joy in playing basketball for the Collingwood team, as well as listening to music and trying new foods.

  • Bobby Nowtash

    Vice President of Finances

    As Vice President of Finance, Bobby is deeply committed to financial strategy and ensuring fiscal health. He leverages his passion for business case studies to drive innovative solutions and informed decision-making. Bobby has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the finances for the Orlando DECA trip and loves working alongside other people. Bobby is an active member of the Collingwood Investment Committee and is dedicated to his goal of becoming more financially literate. Bobby is on the Collingwood men’s varsity team, and is the captain of his metro soccer team and loves to play rugby and wrestle for Collingwood as well. Bobby hopes to pursue accounting, investments, and finance in his university studies. His favourite quote that motivates him by Cristiano Ronaldo is “I feel bad only when I play badly. Fortunately, that happens rarely.”, as he feels it captures his own mindset.

    As Vice President of Operations, Chloe spearheads the planning, coordination, and execution of CBO's offerings, including seminars, workshops, and community outreach initiatives. Chloe is committed to fostering meaningful connections and driving sustainable change between different communities by employing her keen business acumen and solid foundation in organizational leadership.

    Beyond her professional endeavors, Chloe is a true adventurer. Whether she's navigating the complexities of business challenges or conquering new heights—literally—Chloe thrives on pushing boundaries. A self-proclaimed thrill-seeker, she once completed over 50 roller coaster rides in a single day and has her sights set on skydiving in New Zealand.     Vice President of Operations

    As Vice President of Operations at the Collingwood Business Organization, Declan is dedicated to ensuring that events run smoothly. Declan strives to create opportunities for students to experience business through first-hand events. Declan aims to contribute to his full extent to support his department and CBO’s goals. Being an executive of CBO Jr last year he understands the importance of adaptability and dedication. He understands this position comes with a larger responsibility. He is prepared to work diligently toward the new requirements while taking input from those with more experience than him. Declan also has commitments to other Collingwood co-curriculars such as rugby, and being an executive member of the Special Olympics social impact lab.     Volunteer Coordinator

    As one of the Volunteer Coordinators, Bayan, a grade 11 Collingwood student, is committed to creating a sense of purpose within CBO. His role is to recruit volunteers for the many initiatives and life-changing projects that CBO operates. Bayan ensures that each volunteer is placed in a role that aligns with their strengths and the organization's needs while creating opportunities for personal growth. With a strong focus on collaboration, Bayan maintains the smooth operation of volunteer-driven initiatives.     Volunteer Coordinator

    Ariana, a Collingwood grade 11 student, operates as a Volunteer Coordinator and is committed to helping CBO cultivate a sense of purpose. One of her responsibilities is to find volunteers for different beneficial initiatives. Ariana carefully selects volunteer positions based on their skills, such as the needs of organization, and their desire to grow personally. She places a strong emphasis on working as a team to make sure volunteer-led initiatives run smoothly. Business Studies

Having taught over 2 decades in the public school system, Sylvia is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in building business programs, launching impact-driven clubs/organizations that focus on the triple bottom line, and counselling in the post-secondary arena. She is also a faculty advisor for UBC’s Faculty of Education, mentoring and guiding teacher candidates during their practicums.

Sylvia is guided by her philosophy and mission to create opportunities for youth and build community wherever she goes. She continues her quest to help young people find their fit in the world by seeking out inclusive opportunities in the community where they could further develop and refine their skills and knowledge while learning more about themselves.
